Powder metallurgy is hopeful to make titanium parts turn int

This new technology combines the advantages of Powder Metallurgy compaction process and Metal Injection Molding. By adding micro powder and improving lubricant or binder content, the liquidity, filling, and forming ability of the mixed powder are enhanced. This allows for the production of complex geometry parts, such as lateral concave and threaded holes, which have a wide range of applications in automobile manufacturing.

The titanium powder forming technology directly produces parts from the powder, resulting in high yield and low cost. This method eliminates the need for further processing or finishing, ensuring good size control and excellent stability of the parts. The uniformity and mechanical performance of the titanium parts produced using this technology are fully guaranteed, as they have no composition segregation and possess a uniform organization.

However, the high cost of titanium and titanium alloys has been a major obstacle to their widespread application. The use of powder metallurgy technology can effectively reduce the cost of production. Constant advancements in Ti powder forming technology aim to further reduce the production cost of titanium and titanium alloys. This development is expected to make titanium a viable option for automobile manufacturing.
